Had a company holiday party here this year and the spot was THE SPOT! Loved the ambiance...great drinks....great staff....and great vibes everywhere. I don't frequent this area, but my next night out this way we will definitely be hitting TBP!
My wife and I love this place. We have been a few times for brunch/lunch (sat outside on the patio with our dog) and a couple evenings for dinner. I also went for private event held in their upstairs area. The food is great, beer selection is killer, and the service was very friendly each time. Beers: They easily have the best craft beer selection in San Diego. The reason why we like it so much is because they always carry a lot of small batch beers from local breweries that I haven't seen on tap anywhere else. They always have a handful of go-to selections that I know I like, but also have 20+ more taps of beers I've never had before. Food: The food here is great. My wife likes the large entree salads, and I love their sandwiches (plus almost all of their appetizers "shareables" are amazing - especially the carne asada fries). The couple times we've gone for brunch we either try a new breakfast burrito (which are HUGE), or the chicken & waffles. All of it has been excellent each time. We will definitely keep coming back.
I held my annual friends Christmas party at the Brew Project last night and it was a blast. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves. The staff was great and the food and drinks were perfect! All of my friends( all local SD) loved the place and we will be back again! Thank you to Lauren for setting everything up!
Most excellent experience! The staff is GREAT! Huge shout out to Alex Montelbano, GM. We love the food, service, and of course, the BEER! The Brew Project delivered beer to our event with the best service and really went above and beyond. They have our business for good!
Not only is this a great place to enjoy a nice beer (or any libation for that matter), it's also a top notch place to host an event. I found Beau, Mike and virtually every member of their team that I encountered to be so welcoming and friendly. The venue they have for events takes up the entire second floor and has tons of TVs and comfortable seating that overlook their patio. For my event in particular, the space could not have been any more perfect. Even if you're not interested in Brew Project for an event, the food and beer are worth a visit.
We had a corporate team building dinner here and everyone really enjoyed the food selection and beer list. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. We sat on the patio that offered a little bit of everything - Thursday night football on 2 screens, heat lamps and good people-watching as they walk by on the main street. The manager/owner Mike is super awesome and will make your event work as you like!
I came here for a special beer fest event as a guest of a USD alumnus, and I was not disappointed. This 3 story old house converted restaurant has a lot going for it. I love the open layout with a nice sized patio out front and several bars to get your drinks. The workers were friendly and efficient, and the food (at least for this event) was super tasty (the pretzel bites, veggie and chicken skewers, and fried mac-n-cheese balls were all amazing). The beer event had their own tap takeover, but the craft beer menu I viewed on the walls had me intrigued to come back some time.
Went here for my brother's 30th bday party on a busy Saturday night over the holiday weekend. Mike hooked us up!! We had a reservation for 25 on the patio. At first there was a little mixup, but we got it figured out. Our server was Kristen. She did a great job considering the bar/restaurant was packed! They had about three large parties going on; therefore, the food and drinks took a while, but we were with good friends and family, so we didn't mind too much! She was great & so sweet! She never acted stressed or annoyed with our large group!! However, we broke a glass, & we told a male worker right away (busser or expo). He was extremely rude & yelled at me that we didn't tell him sooner. We told him as soon as possible, so I was shocked and offended by his rude response. I work in a restaurant & would have never acted that way to a guest. We weren't drunk and obnoxious breaking stuff, just a clumsy accident. So his insulting response was the only disappointment. Overall, yummy food and drinks! The chicken wings, carne asada fries, and mac & cheese were some highlights.
I recently went to the view project for a professional development event. As part of the planning committee, I worked with the owners to plan the event. They could have made the process any easier. It was a pleasure working with them and the event was gangbusters. There were beers and booze there for every taste (delicious sours for me!) and everyone was raving about the food. I will definitely be back!
I recently hosted my fantasy football draft here and had a great time with my friends. We hung out upstairs where it was very comfortable and had some awesome beer and food. Arranging the event was very easy and I will definitely plan more events here. The staff and management came and spoke to us to make sure everything was ok and provided excellent service. I feel they went above and beyond and made for one of the best drafts we have had. Looking forward to being back! Thanks Brew Project!
This place is awesome!! We held a private large group event in their upstairs' space last week and it was a great evening. Service was 5 stars, food/beer was 5 stars and we highly recommend it. Thank you Brew Project team!
The Brew project is the place to be. I only drink IPAs & Boochcraft (high alcohol Kombucha) and they have the best selection in town of both. Being a business owner myself I know how much customer service matters. Our server Kelly was exceptional. She was so fun, helpful on the beer decisions & her outgoing friendly personality sold me on coming back. John Carlos was also there popping by to ensure we had what we needed & our beers were full. I mentioned I put on events & they both went above & beyond to show me the space upstairs & tell me all about it.. The artichoke dip was great.. & the unique pickled veggies that came with it was an added bonus! We sat outside as happy as can be... Your next.
This place is the best! I reserved their upstairs for my boyfriend's 25th birthday and we got so much more than we bargained for! My emails were responded to so quickly and they were so flexible with the hours we wanted. Molly was our server and she was so on top of it! We had about 40 people and were there maybe an hour and she remembered everyone's names, what drink they had ordered before and was such a joy to have around! Great food, great service, and a VERY cool area for private events! I will recommend this place forever!
I came here for an event with proceeds going to the Barking Lot up in El Cajon. I was impressed with the service they had considering they knew a ton of people would be coming in for this event. We had a reservation for 11:30 and got seated within minutes of getting there. Service was amazing our server kept checking up on us, drinks and food came out quick, AND the atmosphere was great! I'm not sure if they were taking walk-ins at that point but seemed that whoever had reservations was getting seated quickly. Food: I had the regular breakfast burrito which was good, kind of needed to be more saucy so just got hot sauce on the side. The French fries were delicious and I definitely recommend them! They are cross cut potatoes with some seasoning ... Super delicious. I also had the peach mint lemonade which was easily my favorite brunch drink! Definitely didn't make me miss a mimosa so glad I ordered that. The place is quite small so if you are planning to go, try to get in a reservation so you are not waiting around. If you do end up waiting around, enjoy the beautiful San Diego sun and get a cappuccino from Pappalecco across the street, can't go wrong.
Can't praise the Brew Project enough. Concept, venue, service... We hosted a networking event at the Brew Project that was a complete success. Their focus on local, hand crafted beers supported by a well educated staff was the perfect setup for a diverse group of professionals networking. They set us up in their upstairs private hosting area - it is a cool setup. Spacious, sports bar comfortable yet professional. The team went above and beyond. Mike and Beau where great at providing direction prior to the event that made it a complete success. They had 3 servers assisting the group which made it easy to not only keep a cold beer in hand, but given their knowledge of the constantly changing micro brew selection, made for a great conversation point. I would recommend The Brew Project for any private event. Be it professional, buddies watching a sporting event, or family celebration. Thank you guys for making our event a success. Cheers! Keith
This place is unlike any other place in the area. The layout is amazing with a great bar inside, huge 2-tiered outside seating AND a cozy and plush upstairs lounge...with NINTENDO 64 MARIO CART!! These 3 areas make for a great bar to explore on a date with your buddies or even by yourself after a hard days work. Next, the service. Liz the bartender, aka Superwoman, is just that and not because she was dressed as Superwoman for Comic-Con. She's awesome! That goes for the rest of the super friendly staff as well. The beer selection is on point and you can even buy beer to go! Lastly, the food is delicous and you can get the biggest, best basket of fries in town. Our networking group hosted a great event here too, so bring the team and enjoy the project!
My job doesn't suck - I end up throwing a lot of events for professional associations throughout San Diego, many of which are happy hours and large scale parties. Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting a member's only networking happy hour for 50 people at the Brew Project, and it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. Mike was awesome, easy to work with, and made sure all of our needs were met. The food was delicious, and, as the name infers, their beer selection was fantastic. I love, love, love that they only host local San Diego beers. There's no reason not to with the staggering amount of talented Brewers we have here. They also use locally sourced produce and baked goods when possible (Bread and Cie is a favorite of mine), which I wholly approve of. Our event was in the private space upstairs, with its historic charm and private bathroom. We also had 2 servers who kept our group going and were fantastic as well. This place is amazing for lunch, a beer or two, dinner - and small scale events as well. 5 stars all the way!
First time here & I came with a friend who had a friend that was hosting an event at the upper level. It was a really nice spot & a cool place to host a get together. Especially since they serve crafted beers from different breweries in SD, but also they serve food that can go well with the different beers. I gave it a 4 star rating because it was a cool atmosphere the servers there were amazing too. I'm definitely willing to try this place out again.
Great place to hang out, eat, watch a game or enjoy great things on tap. The food consists of burgers and other "elevated" bar food that is made with love. My favorite is the Diego Burger. Their seasoned cut fries are phenomenal even though I try to avoid fried food. Highly addictive fries and if you order the king carne fries you may reach a point of no return. I first came here to enjoy Boochcraft on tap. This is one of few, but growing number of places, that has it on tap. It wasn't until I connected with the owner when I wanted to have an event there, that I realized how deep the great service goes here. We had a birthday and wanted to let them know we were coming, about 20 of us. Dealing with the owner Beau was easy. Mike, the events coordinator was very prompt at getting back to me. They got us a spot reserved on the lower floor near the bar and went beyond the service you would expect. The server that night had to split many checks and got it all right, hustling all evening to meet everyone's needs. They even cut and served our birthday cake for us. For those who want to go big, there is an upstairs room with tables, TVs and a gaming system that you can reserve for a $ minimum. If you have the money, go for it, it's a nice spot. It's easy to feel like I'm in my living room, watching a game on TV, enjoying a favorite beverage like Boochcraft and eating great food.
I worked with Mike at the BP to coordinate a private baby shower in their upstairs special event space. The space wonderful! It is in a great location and is furnished well with neutral pieces all around. It was so easy to decorate and it was super comfy for all of the baby shower guests to hang out. The staff was AWESOME (Hey Molly!) and I was so impressed with the service. The entire experience at Brew Project was positive. I would highly recommend this space to anyone who is looking to host a special event!!
